Together – A symbol of community spirit by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

TOGETHER is the title of the new artwork on the side of Fremantle’s Kings Square car park. The artwork by London-born artist Morag Myerscough spells out the work “together” is this 2,000 sqm art piece, the first permanent artwork by Morag Myerscough in Australia.

Took a day off and wandered into the CBD for the first time in several weeks to get a haircut and to catch up with some colleagues for lunch IRL instead of Teams or Webex.

I took the new to me GX80 and 12-32 for a brief spin this afternoon. Here are some photos from the village church. The B/W photos are in L Monochrome. All have been run through DXO Pure Raw from the RW2 files. (Of which more further down).

These are examples of DXO Pure Raw vs what Panasonic or Adobe can do - first DXO file vs the jpeg (these are ISO 6400 btw).

Then I did what I could with the RAW file in Lightroom Classic.

The moral of the tale is that for M4/3 files at ISO 1600 or above, you can completely transform how good they look with a run through Pure Raw.

Yawn by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

An Australian pelican [Pelecanus conspicillatus] having a stretch and a yawn whilst sunbaking on rocks at Dunn Bay, Dunsborough, Western Australia.

A very lucky shot as I had just put the camera done when it suddenly moved. This was the result.

An amazing photograph, Andrew.
And, true, it could be considered a lucky shot.
But a remarkable image nonetheless - and a tribute to your eye and patience as a photographer.
