I've been buying and trying compact 35mm cameras for about a year now. Never found one I really liked. They over-hyped models I found to be bulky and loud. I never dove down the Olympus Muju route due to prices, and never scored one while thrifting.
About two months ago, I realized I still had my original Minolta Freedom Zoom 150. My parents bought if for me as a gift in the 1990s when I downsized from my XG1. I dug it out of the closet, bought a new battery and loaded a roll of Fuji Superia 400 to test things out.
While I wanted a prime lens compact, using this camera and not zooming has proved successful. Nice images and a very Oly-like pocketable design.
