HI I have a few maxxum lens that I bought for my film camera. I want to know what the button on the side is for? What does it do, should I ignore it. It's second hand Ebay and I'm new to the system.
I found this on the internet:
Some Konica Minolta lenses are equipped with a focus-
hold button. The operation of this button can be specified in
section 1 of the custom menu (p. 92). This custom function
has two options:
Focus hold - pressing the focus-hold button on the lens
locks the focus. D.O.F. preview - pressing the focus-hold button previews the depth of field (p. 49). With
non-D series lenses, this is active when the aperture and shutter speed are displayed.
Thanks a lot, I guess it won't explode after all. jk I just finished googling it. I didn't know if the info would be out there because it's an old lens.
This thread might come in handy for some new person like me. Getting started in film for the first time, and dealing with old hardware
