Hi Ed: I missed these when you posted them. I've read that close-ups wide open are soft on the X100, and don't get critically sharp until f8, but these ones at f4 look awfully good to me.
And an unexpected bump in the cash flow allowed me to get a used X100 this week (sorry I missed yours), with a 21A0xxx seerial number, so hopefully the dreaded sticky shutter blades won't afflict me. I think I'm going to like this camera a lot once I have it in my hands.

+1 for #1. I like the colours. But not the second, I hate the colours in the second one! Oranges look tasty though.
Thanks; didn't really control for the reds in the second one, which can get blotchy on Fujis for some reason. Nevertheless, it was the garish orange on red in bright sun that attracted me to make the image in the first place.
