I'm an animal photographer. I came from the world of professional wedding and family portraits but got out of the business because of having to deal with people. Now retired I no longer sell my work but still take tons of portraits, mostly of animals.
My favorite hangout for inspiration in my Portland, Oregon Zoo. I've been a member there for over 5 years and consider it my home away from home, going over 200 days out of the year. My weapons of choice are two Fuji X-E1 bodies with 5 Fujinon lenses. My favorite lens is by far the 55-200mm zoom.
Below is a recent portrait of a lioness with one of her 3 18 month old cubs. The shot was taken from about 75 feet away, handheld, ISO 400, F8.0, 1/120".
