Over Thanksgiving I traveled down US395 and the Eastern Sierras, visited ancient thousand-year-old Bristlecone Pines, desert zoos, plus Joshua Tree NP. Some images:

That's quite a detailed post Evan. Thanks for the link, but I don't use Apple products. Almost all of my work is done on a Linux Ubuntu box.

Hi Tony,

On Linux, I believe you can use Adobe Lightroom, which should satisfy most of your needs. If you want to follow my methodology, and prefer filesystem-based methods, I think you can quite easily implement the filesystem organization with most image browsers like Digikam, plus individual editing tools (GIMP, Darktable, Lightzone).

To be honest though, I used to use Linux as my desktop, but a Mac just works much much better when it comes to photography and multimedia. It's a combination of first-class media apps plus having a robust UNIX filesystem underneath that's a great combo.

Anyways we should probably take this discussion to the workflow forum. Cheers!

Those first three pictures are breathtaking! Wow... I keep going back and looking at them. The mountain one looks unreal, like a painting or something.

Thanks! It wasn't the best lighting or anything, just trying my best to improve through post processing.
