I had a few days off and managed to escape to West Cornwall with my family. For some time, I've been wanting to try the vertical image stitch into panorama, so I took a tripod and tried 3 types of shot. I've used a free app called Hugin Panorama Editor to stitch the frames together, then made adjustments in LR5. All shot on an XT1 with the 18-55mm.

The original TIFF of the 6 frames has a combined size of 87mb.

6 frames vertical, 200th at F8, 29mm, ISO 200. On a tripod.

Then I decided to shoot 3 frames, original TIFF of the 3 frames has a combined size of 37mb.

3 frames horizontal, 200th at F10, 18mm, ISO 200. Hand held.

Lastly, I shot the pano on the built in panoramic feature of the XT1. Original JPG of the multi-frame is only 4.7mb.

Multi-frame horizontal, 200th at F10, 18mm, ISO 200. Hand held.

I've not made any effort to make them the same width or height. What is deceiving is that the harbour is semi circular, the photos make it appear as if it's not.
