But I really would like to see more pictures by other photographers
to make this thread more appealing. There are so many different kinds of music.
The musicians in smaller venues will be happy to get some attention and they normally do not object to being photographed. In case you give them some photos for free, they will be quite pleased when you turn up a second time.
This is also a way to get known as a photographer and you may gain free entry for oncoming concerts.

Again a beautiful series with wonderful colours not only in the spotlights.
My favourite: the guitarist and the bass-player in concentrated action taking it away, the sound waves and the power of the music made visible. A stunning double exposure, Rolf.
You show the musicians in their intense performance without the usual microphones and stands covering them and without stage gear reducing them to decorative embellishment.

a piece that is not going to be witnessed on stage very often as it takes a lot of preparation

First is John Doe, most famously from X, performing solo in Madison WI in 2007. Just recently found the walgreens CD again. IIRC I was running a Kiev 4 and a Jupiter 12 and Fuji 400.

Next up is Kevin Bowe from Minneapolis. Great underknown singer songwriter. Bought a Casino because of this show
