All-Pro
I have now been using the M8 and the M9 side by side for some time, and I just got back from a short trip to Tennessee where I used one day the M9 with the Kobalux 28/3.5, and the M8 with the CV 50/1.5 (about 66mm). On the next day, I switched the lenses around, and the M8 got the 28/3.5 (about 36mm). We were in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and I took photos at same places on both days.
I need to make some adjustments on the colors but I did not do anything to the images below. No IR Cut filter was used.

From past experience with this lens, the CV 50/1.5 ltm is an excellent lens in sunlight and at night. The Kobalux 28/3.5 is a great little lens at daylight and also for subtle colors with the M9 at sunset.
Here, I had often shade on overcast days.It may have been Brian who said good things about the CV lens, which encouraged me to buy such a lens. I did not see it necessary to spend over $1000 for the chrome M version of it.

Good cameras, good lenses, good subjects, good photographer all add up to very enjoyable pictures. Thanks for sharing. I have not heard of the Kobalux 28/2.8 before. Oh, and welcome to Leicaplace.

Thanks. The Kobalux is a 28/3.5. I have corrected the typo above. I often refer to this lens as a 28/2.8, when in fact I may have thought of my Rokkor 28/2.8.

I got way down on this thread and kept thinking- "Where are pictures of the Girls?!"

Great shots, the icy terrain is beautiful- way different from Florida. Reminds me of "Frozen". If the girls haven't seen it yet, they will love it.
