Challenge! My Gear A Week Challenge - Week 11 - Fuji X-Pro2 - Fuji 16/2.8, 35 f1.4, 56/1.2, and 90/2

Going to take a little break from Leica for a minute - even though I think that I could shoot that wonderful machine forever!

So, Fuji X-Pro2 with primes! 16mm f/2.8, 35mm f/1.4, 56/1.2 and 90/2

If weather permits, will get some images posted as soon as tomorrow.

LOL - Maybe I should do the "outtakes" edition and show all the fails - although I'd need to keep them for a minute as I usually delete the dogs.

I really appreciate what you’ve been doing with this series, and your dedication towards it (even if you quit tomorrow lol). The whole series is a great showpiece for relaxing about specific gear. Thanks for sharing them.

And a serious driving home the point that it is the shooter and not the gear. He, and Matt @MoonMind , deliver excellent photo’s consistently with several different systems.

Definitely one of the hardest things to get across to a lot of people.

I absolutely LOVE experimenting with various pieces of kit. I'm in a financial position right now that I can purchase/trade to almost anything I want. However, if you capped me on the gear I could keep, there is very little difference between systems that would leave me limited. I will say that the Leica M 240 does have me smitten right now...and it is hurting my soul that I put it up for the week and shooting Fuji.

I may come back to it this coming week as the Voigtlander 12mm f/5.6 should be arriving today (4/6) and I want to experiment with that, given the weather after today is supposed to be nice and rain free for about 7 days!
I also have the Meike 85/1.8 and the Fuji S3 Pro to content with....so many choice.

I will be very curious to see your thoughts on the Voigtlander 12. The widest M mount lens I have is the 21, actually I have 2 21's, both Voigtlanders. The 21/1.4 and the 21/3.5 Type I.

First impressions are positive. The rating on it stated well used. The glass is pristine as is the body. The focus ring is smooth, feels much like the Zeiss Planar 50/2. The aperture ring feels
Good as well, half stop clicks are all positive.

The body looks pristine as well. The only thing “well used “ is some wear around the lens hood and there it is only on the edge.

For the price I think this thing is going to be a steal!!

I know I have my “gear a week” challenge going on, but I might need to put that only hold to test out all this new stuff I got. I’ve the CV12 and the Meike 85/1.8 in Z mount plus the Fuji S3Pro.

I plan on taking the CV 12 into downtown Columbus to get some architectural shots and maybe find some nice tight alleys to see how it does with the lines. I might even revisit some of the state buildings / court houses … although not sure if I can beat the pics I already got with the Ricoh GR III and GW-4 wide angle adapter.
