This is Nikon's first wide-angle lens, based on the Leica 3.5cm F3.5 Elmar. It is a 4-element in 3-group lens. I had one years ago, picked up cheap- was "not impressed" by the performance, was not sharp until F8.
This one is better, the glass is perfect. This is with a Leica yellow filter, outside shots at F5.6 and inside shots at F3.5.
