Not in any way Leica related so put it here in the open forum. Just came in the mail yesterday, did a quick focus check at 1 meter and added +5 micro-adjustment on my Df, then took to my Rotary meeting and a local wine bar after that.

All images shot on aperture-priority, auto ISO, f/1.4, out-of-camera JPEG with no post.

Supposedly they based the optical design on the old 58mm f/1.2 Noct Nikkor. Its going to be a lot of fun learning all of its quirks and how to get the most out of it. I can already tell that its a keeper though, and that I'm (sadly) going to enjoy the Df and Nikkor glass every bit as much as the M Monochrom.

The 58/1.2 Noct-Nikkor was 7 elements in 6 groups, much like the 50/1.2. I have the older 55/1.2 AI and Nikkor-SC, 7 elements in 5 groups. Sharp over the center 2/3rds of the image and T1.25.

Based on, but different. The new 58 has two aspheric elements while the Noct had only one, though that one was hand ground, which I doubt the new one is.
