Nikon Showcase Nikkor-T 10.5cm F4 in F-Mount

Brian

Product of the Fifties
This is an odd lens, one of the earliest in F-Mount and one of the last for S-mount. This is a "preset" lens, and is one of the few 3-element lenses made by Nikon.
This lens is Nikon's version of the "Mountain Elmar", a small/compact longer focal length lens. This lens is very light, weighing in at 8.1oz. It was not a popular lens. Most sellers try to get "way to much" money for this lens- mine was found on Ebay for $100, when it arrived the original tag was for "$695.95". Someone came to their senses. I have the Canon 100/4 (a triplet) and Minolta 11cm F5.6 (4 elements in 2 groups) in Leica mount. The Nikkor-T 10.5cm F4 was never made in Leica mount.

All shots are at F4. This lens focuses to ~2.75ft.

The lens is sharper than I thought it would be, 3 elements in 3 groups. It's a nice alternative to the heavier 105's and other Nikon telephoto lenses.

And, this little lens has it's story told.
