Hey All,

Asiafish - no worries on the music. I was born and raised country and Bakersfield is a holy grail. I wish more had been done to preserve that heritage. My family lived in Bakersfield for awhile - my brothers and sisters graduated from west high. I still remember how impossible it was to get a tennis court at two am in the summer! :) And of course the smell of the stockyards!

-Ed-

I've been in Bakersfield for six years now, and its great for business (immigration law and criminal defense of immigrants), and actually not to bad for photography, when it isn't blistering hot outside.

It would have a different look- CMOS requires more processing to reduce noise inherent to the design; but the design lends itself to oversampling for noise reduction. A CCD- Raw is RAW. CMOS- RAW is processed.

Since I enjoy my Jupiter 3 so much on the Leica, I thought I'd give another Ukrainian lens a try. This one is a Helios 81N on the Nikon Df. The Helios 81N is a very compact 50mm f/2 with a native Nikon F mount (AIS) that cost all of $60 in like-new condition. Its about the same size as my Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Series E (another gem), but as a much more interesting render.

And now some images captured on the Df with the Helios 81N, all shot wide-open except for the Leica M5 porno shot, taken at f/2.8
