Nikon Showcase nikon Z6 image thread

w/ FTZ adapted 17mm f3.5 Tamron Adaptall - actually really nice if you're after a cheap prime wide, I think I prefer it to the Nikon 18mm used above. Maybe slightly more modern coatings give a little bit more bite to the image? Still get 'interesting' flare in full sun but thats par for the course on these old wides.

Had a nice drab matte smoke gray sunset last Thursday and decided to make some changes.

Procrastinating by doing some quick adapted lens tests on the Z6 with the cheapo adapters I picked up from ebay a few months back.
First is with a 50mm f1.4 non-AI wide open (smooth background blur!) and second is with an 18mm f3.5 AI wide-angle.
Not bad for 30+ year old lenses, if you've got time to futz around with manual focus & a bit of luck.

w/ Olympus OM Zuiko 135mm f2.8 - I've been eyeing up a few 135mm lenses recently but I've struggled to bond with the focal length; particularly the poor close-focus distance (about 1.5m for the Oly); I'm sure more modern formulations are better in this regard. Seems pretty good at its intended distance (eg head/shoulders style portraits) even if I can't get the cat to sit still enough to test this; bokeh is nice and smooth and its sharp where you need it to be.

w/ Olympus OM Zuiko 135mm f2.8 - cat decided to be amenable to a quick portrait after dinner, this was from about 1.8m away... normally I'm not one to pixel peep but I was impressed to see the reflection in her eyes as she looked over my shoulder at the bush and skyline... goes to show 40 year old lenses can still get the goods if you're patient...

w/ the 180mm f2.8 Nikkor AIS - actually does pretty well on the Z6 and the punch-in/peaking is better than the focus confirm dot on my D600...

Yes it’s undeniably true and a major reason for changing (alright then, me changing) from D to Z, in addition to weight and other benefits. But I do still miss the DSLR.
