These are the things that Leica will take care of free of charge for my M9:
Necessary labours
Sensor cover glass, coating is seperating
adjust range finder
clean, lubrication and adjustment
leather covering
CIRCUIT M9 REV 4+5

That's a lot of work for free, even for the $1000 of the new policy- is still a bargain. The sensor is expensive, as is aligning it.

No sign of corrosion on my M9, but I wonder if it's just a matter of time.

There are a number of variables at play. The Kodak DCS14 series used the same cover glass, some corrode- others did not. Luck of the draw, or environment- hard to tell.
