This lens is sharp- enough to out-resolve the M Monochrom.
IF you ever get some shots out of focus, others in focus: I found one design flaw with the retaining ring that holds the front doublet in place. The retaining ring must be tightened using pin-type heads on a spanner. The retaining ring on mine had never been tightened down properly, the group would move ever-so-slightly when pointed down. Better now.

I returned the lens today to its owner. He had sold it on Amazon last night. I won't have it to play with, but at least that removes the temptation to buy yet another 50mm lens 
.
It was fun to play with it though.... At least my Elmarit 28 ASPH f2.8 came in today so I have something to hold my attention for a bit
