Micro 4/3 Showcase Olympus 9-18mm f/4-5.6

I find this lens to be rather underrated. I think the f/4-5.6 aperture scares some people away from it. I'll start off the showcase with some of my favorites images from this lens.

Took the 9-18mm f4.0-5.6 on a trip to Tasmania in 2019. Compact and took up little space in the backpack. Pleasing IQ as well.

Yes, this lens is really capable for its size. Seems to produce some really pleasing indoor photos as well. Even low light isn’t a problem if you drop shutter speeds and lean on IBIS. As long as there’s no motion in the scene, things turn out really well.

Well, after many years, I finally fumbled a lens on a swap. My little 9-18 took a fall from chair height onto a hard tile floor, and bounced a few times for good measure. Fortunately, it appears to still function as expected, with no visible damage. Probably a situation where being mostly plastic and lightweight was a good thing.

I just now posted this in the B&W thread and realized that this lens's image deserves a permanent place in this thread. Looking at the IQ and rendering says so much about this little gems abilities under the right circumstances. I don't use it often enough, but when I do, I am always well pleased.
