I have this thing for wooden villas after renovating and living in one. Our house is just 100 years old. But when I visit my hometown I try to have time to go to Ruissalo island in Turku. It's an area where building villas started 1848 and until late 1930's there were 98 villas on the island. The nature with hardwood like oaks, aspens etc. is different than other parts in Finland. Only south coast and archipelago has similar places.
Not all villas have survived from the war years' recession and fire. But luckily many have and some of them are open for public. Cafes and galleries, but many are also private houses. One of the open ones is this 173 years old yellow beauty in Cape Kuuva, serving as cafe. Candid shot of it for this thread
