Leica Pair of Noktons on the M9 at the Naval Museum in Columbus, Georgia

Brian

Product of the Fifties
a must-see Museum of you get down this way, we always make a trip to it when visiting family in Columbus. This year I took the 50/1.1 Nokton and 35/1.2 Nokton on the M9. All shots hand-held.

The Gallery is here:

Leica M9 at the Columbus Naval Museum - SeriousCompacts.com Gallery

and some shots, will probably upload more.

A Mock-up of the Iron Clad CSS Albemarle.

With the 50/1.1 wide-open:

And the 35/1.2 Nokton wide-open:

all the above shots are longer than 1/30s. Photography is allowed, lighting is subdued. Original flags have "No Flash Photography" signs posted. The rest of the exhibits allow flash, but I like the fast lenses.

This is with the 50/1.1 Nokton wide-open.

100% crop:

This lens is much sharper than my old Canon 50/1.2. I optimized it for the Leica M9 using one layer of Copper tape, about 0.025mm.

Agreed, thank you Brian - a very cool museum and your photos make me feel as though I'm right there!

I've never been to Columbus, Georgia though my father's mother was born there - back during the Civil War times. One of my goals is to see more of the USA. I'll remember this for our southern tour, Brian.(y)
