Micro 4/3 Panasonic GX1 images

Now that I've had a new Panasonic GX1 for a few days, I think I'm obliged to post a few images.

I used the GX1 both with and without the new LVF2 viewfinder. The LVF2 is a vast improvement over the LVF1 .. I dare say that manual focusing using the LVF2 is now quite feasible, unlike everyone's experiences with the LVF1.

All images here are either with the 20mm f/1.7 or the 25mm f/1.4:

Thanks for posting these. Having recently been using my LX3 extensively and rediscovering what a great camera it is I find myself very interested in the GX1. I would love to hear your impressions of the camera in use alongside the images if you have the time.

My pleasure, Olli.

Rather than cross-post between this SC forum and the mu43 forum, I'm providing a link to my post on mu43 (if that's OK):

Featured forum post: GX1 Initial Impressions and a Sample ISO 1600 Image - Micro Four Thirds User Forum

I've stated my first impressions of GX1 in this mu43 featured post and the thread is now 4 pages long. I hope most of your questions regarding the GX1 are addressed .. if not, ask away.

Just received my GX1 and LVF2

After seeing the images posted here and reading about the numerous changes made in the abilities of the GX1 vs the GF1, I decided to take the leap and get one. This is one of the shots taken with the GX1 and basically right from the camera. I did do some recovery in LR and boosted the contrast a tad. I used the new Panasonic 25mm lens..which I also like quite well.

Pawzitiv

Thanks for posting these images..your images and the reviews on this new camera are making it hard to resist. It's only a matter of time before I get one! The sooner the better!

pawzitiv, thanks for the temptation. Great images, and review elsewhere! ;)

Oh dear, here we go Armanius :D

Fear not, Armando's not alone in this boat. Though, you're right, if someone is to abandon his life-jacket, leap out and make a splash for shore first I just think it might be he :D

LOL!!! Mark my friend, I will have you know that I held a black body only GX1 in my hands this past Thursday, and I did NOT buy it!!! So proud of myself!

ps: I confess that I'd probably have bought it IF it had the pancake zoom lens!

Some wonderful high quality images there. As much as I loved my GF1 and as much as I love my G3 I could not justify buying the GX1 as nice as it is. I'm really glad it looks the same as the GF1 as I thought the GF1 was a design classic. The insides are the same for both GX1 and G3 so the images will be just about identical so If I swapped them over it would only be for aesthetically reasons! Maybe I'll be tempted when the price falls to a reasonable amount! :D

Thanks for posting. Looking very good. But these days a have a cure against GAS. Whenever I read about a tempting new camera I say FUJI SYSTEM. It helps, try it.

These are amazing productions .. Guys these are the reason, am so stick to my M4/3 system, punchy sharp results with just that right DOF even with wide open bright prime lenses. With all the new inventions in Digital camera world and shocking prices from creative camps, my love on M4/3 is only getting deaper and deaper. Thanks very much for sharing these inspirational photos.

I made the leap. I should have it by early next week with a 20mm f1.7. I still have the adapter to use my Nikon lenses on m4/3rd so they will come into play. I'll compare the images with the ones I still have on file from the GF1, and post some here. Now, what to sell? Hm. . . . ?
