Pea Aphids

This was taken with a MD mount 70-210 zoom lens, a 2x converter, +3 close-up, and a macro lens on top. Add a builders lamp to the mix and this is my best shot of a pea aphid (greenfly):

These ugly little chaps are about a millimetre long.

Thanks. It was magnified so much that mere focussing didn't work any more. I had to move the camera by gently nudging the tripod feet in and out.

It took me about an hour to get this shot.

It's not bad at all. I bought a MD-NEX converter for about €50, and got all 5 lenses, the 2x magnifier and a +1 and +2 close up lens at a local charity shop for less than €100. Not a bad days shopping. They have a load of M42 stuff there, too (including macro bellows), so I've just ordered an M42-NEX converter.
