During this photowalk, I only used the 18-55mm WR as it was raining continuously. I tried staying on the 35mm FL.

Some of the first photos from my recently acquired (and well-worn) K-5iis + the FA 20-35mm zoom.
All taken on an overcast grayish day in southern Oregon.
The first, outside of an Auto body repair shop--

Where assorted car body parts are in evidence--

The next at the 'yard' for a local towing service, where abandoned non-functional vehicles are stored--

And finally a rural American landscape, complete with Cadillac + RV--

To my surprise, this inexpensive small largely plastic-bodied zoom has better rendering capabilities than I was expecting :)

I'm liking these already, Miguel! The rendering really goes with the subject matter and your pleasantly (slightly-)grungy processing. Plus I just know those were a real pleasure to shoot, on a Pentax! ;)

Great series of images, Jason.
The K-5 really delivers. And in this case, the photographer's eye played a crucial role as well :)

Thanks, Miguel.

Some of the shots are in low light and I must have been concerned about camera shake because the iso's are all cranked up a little bit. I suspect I set it for some indoor workshop shots and forgot to adjust it when I went outside. But looking at these shots, even almost a decade later I think the K5 sensor is a beauty. I wasn't really post processing back then so the noise reduction would have been straight off camera. I sold off quite a few K mount lenses since then, I think I've only kept the two nifty lenses - 35/2.4 and 50/1.8 ,- but maybe I should find a DA limited prime to really make my K5 and K10 sing again.
