Just horsing around with the K100D, I think the colours is rather nice, not to mention the texture. There have been some development since 2006, though.

Change from last Tuesday. More yellow on the large cottonwood, most leaves have already dropped off the smaller trees. Quite a few people out walking/ running. About 60°F (15.6°C), T-shirt was a bit cool, sweat shirt was too hot. The river valley looks nice from higher viewing on the way in, but no place to safely pull off the road to snap a shot.

On the way back after doing the short loop backwards.

Past peak, turning brown and dropping more leaves, left side of the tree will be bare (or close) by the time the right side finishes color shift. Likely no more color foliage shots from the San Pedro House until spring. Will have the Monochrome along for the walks, might be moody shots when I can snag them.

Fantastic result! Interested to hear more about how you get on with the HDR function with this particular camera.

Thanks. I keep forgetting about it. I should have also tried HDR 2 & 3, might have had results a little easier to work with in post.

I need to read the manual and see if I can assign it to a button or such so I don't have to menu dive to use it.

My only real issue with the design of the K-3 III is that they took away the full usefulness of the K-1's multi-dial on the top. The selection dial is still there, but has fewer features. Although, I suppose you could program the functions you want to the user settings? I haven't looked into just what you can program into those.

Agree about the top dial, I don't recall even using that dial after getting the camera set up for my normal use. I don't remember how much you can customize the dial.

Function buttons can be remapped. After doing some reading, I changed the "Lock" function to HDR. Brings up the HDR settings when I press it now. I've had so little issue with accidental button actuations when not using the camera, I never used the "Lock" function.

Nice, well, +1 for customizability. I kind fo enjoy having so many marked functions on the K-1 dial... somehow, turning on the wifi by clicking a physical dial is very satisfying to me.
