I noticed a while ago that many of us hobbyists/amateurs/photographers have similar patterns in how we go about photography. Especially, those of us that started with photography, more seriously, in the last 10 years, as digital cameras became more affordable. I struggled to find a definition of it. This ''stroll photography'' thing might be the best explanation yet!
Anyhow, some interesting things may come as a result of these strolls we take.
An example that I remember fondly is from November 2015, when I had my Samsung NX1000 mirrorless camera.
I wanted to take a ''stroll'' that November day, to the bank of the Danube, across Belgrade.
I didn't expect anything in particular from my photo stroll, just a few raw files to play with, when I get back home.
And, it started with some relatively dull cloud cover in the late afternoon, while I was walking toward the river bank..
Soon, however, Sun started to work it's magic, by mixing light from some proper angles, proper for magic light, as in - magic hour.
As the Sun was setting further behind the horizon, it threw more light, from another angle. We call that the blue hour.
I love cloudscapes, golden hour, blue hour, riverscapes, landscapes, cityscapes... and, for me, this was a treat! Good thing was, I carried a tripod, or else, I wouldn't have been able to produce images as seen here.
I don't know... for me, this accidental photo stroll exemplifies the beauty of photography, and our privilege as photographers to enjoy it.
On the way back to the city, across the bridge, I took a few more shots of cityscape/long exposure as the night darkness took over.
