Photography catnip?

Bicycles, boats, and chairs. I find it hard to pass by without taking a photo. Sometimes the photo is interesting, often not. But it's hard to turn away.

What subjects compel you? What is it about them that, uh, *captures* you?

Skies. Sunset, sunrise
Birds, particularly our wrens that live at our place.
Mountains, mountains and more mountains.

Pretty much anything that flies slow; GBH, Egret, Bi-Plane....

Anything that's around me wherever I am, whether that be things, land/ seascapes, people. That sounds very general doesn't it but it's the truth. At some point in the future, it'll be very handy when my memory fades!

Almost anything. I'm subject agnostic.

Definitely a lot of things catching my eyes - but ferns and interesting tree bark would probably stand out.

(My wife said only last week that I take too many photos of ferns. So those have to be on this list

Very interesting question. For me, the lesser, the better: If it's small, unimportant, but somehow out of place, I *have* to take an image.

But generally, I'm with John: *Everything* warrants an image, so anything will do. I have an affinity to plants and still life, though.

However, I will not photograph certain things and situations (or would only photograph them if I was a journalist). But that's a different matter.

I tend to focus on, usually little, signs of human civilization. Very broad, so I won't easily be done.

I go for all sorts of things, but when I see raptors in the sky and start wondering why I don't have my camera with me. Then the thought barely occurs to me that I'm currently driving down the highway and it's not an ideal photo opp.

Just about anything. Sometimes I'm drawn to physical things, sometimes my eye wanders to abstraction and I'll look at shape, shade, line, and form.

I tend to get sucked into details and still have a hard time with big picture things.

Am somewhat drawn to desolate landscapes and negative space, other than that, I am somewhat of an omnivore when it comes to subjects.
