Micro 4/3 Pileated!

Pileated woodpeckers are notoriously shy. They play coy. Get too close, and they slide around to the other side of the tree so you can't see them.

But on a walk in Sodus, NY, I got one who wanted to pose for me.

I call this a "God likes me" moment.

Nicely done. I've never come close to getting good images of a Pileated, beyond catching a couple of them busy digging around the base of a stump in my back yard. I got a couple of pics through my screen and dirty window. Not exactly NatGeo stuff, but it captured the moment.
