Forestry slash, not very much here, as elsewhere, but which many believe responsible for the fact so many bridges were smashed during Gabrielle. We've had many floods over the years, but not the same damage to infrastructure. Govt has announced a long overdue inquiry into forestry practices. Many of us believe the question of what kind of trees to be planted needs to be addressed, and why large overseas companies are allowed to buy food producing land and put it into pine trees, which then render the land unsuitable for anything else.

Batteries in the wild are filthy, dangerous things. Of all things, they should be properly disposed of, even AA and AAA type dry cells. Just full of toxic ingredients.
