The wife and I are planning a trip to Toronto late August early September 2020.

I will be doing my usual research but I always love to get a locals or "been there done that" perspective on the cool things to do or the awesome stuff to see that is off the beaten path or less "touristy".

We also plan on heading over to the Canadian side of Niagara before heading back.
Looking forward to your thoughts and suggestions!

Things to do for fun or to photograph? :)

There’s the obvious sites like:
  • CN Tower
  • Centre Island
  • Union Station
  • Financial District
  • Yonge-Dundas Square/Eaton Center
  • Old and New City Hall / Nathan Philips Sqaure
  • Casa Loma
  • The ROM
  • The AGO

For more “real life” you may also want to check out:
  • The Distillery District
  • The Beaches (nice boardwalk and shops on Queen St East)
  • Queen St West
  • The Danforth (excellent restaurants)
  • Kensington Market
  • St Lawrence Market
  • Little Italy
  • High Park

There’s more, but this is quickly off the top of my head.

I visit Niagara quite a bit as I'm only a few miles from it on the Canadian side. Try to avoid weekends as they have added barriers along the roadside so it pushes everyone into a large crowd.
The Niagara has a great number of wineries to visit and also Niagara-on-the-lake is nice area to visit and have lunch.

I'll be in Scotland during September, so have great visit you will enjoy it.
