They're pretty hardy plants John, but I didn't realise they lived that long! Magnificent too when they're in bloom(?) like this one from a few months back.

Cycad "flower". It's not actually a flower, as cycads probably predate flowering plants by about 100 million years, dating from either the Carboniferous or early Permian period. My bet's on the Carboniferous. I studied a bit of geology along the way.
