Micro 4/3 Playing with my new Samyang 7.5mm fisheye (and Olympus E-P3)

I had a quick play with my newly acquired Samyang 7.5mm fisheye. It certainly is a sweet little lens.

Unfortunately, the weather was far from ideal for the shots around the Sydney Opera House. The dusk sky was much improved but I was sans-tripod so I upped the ISO.

This very cheap entry into proper fisheye lenses it a lot of fun and I look forward to more to come.

Are these photos cropped? I have a 8mm Rokinon but distortion is such that I have to crop. Is my assumption right?

The amount of distortion will depend on where you havr the centre axis and also the angle you have the camera pointed.

One of the things I did in some the Opera House series was place something straight in the middle and you can notice the bowed edges, e.g. the signs.

The Queen Vic building shot shows an arch on the left that should be straight and iron spiral stairs that are a constant width that taper conically and now has the shape of a rocket. The flowers are greatly enlarged due to their close poximity to the lens but the the large roof dome is now not a dominating element.
