I needed some "medication" for my depression so I printed 3 of my recent images, need to Blue Tack them on the wall (mounts or frames to expensive at the moment).

Very nice Ovi. What size do you print them?

A4, I'm all out of A3 paper which is my preferred print size (if it's worth a print then print big). I have some old Kodak Glossy Premium photo paper I bought off Oxfam for a few quid.
On the subject of size, is it just me? But I can't seem to find all that many other paper sizes here in UK beyond 6x4, A4, A3 or A2 ... Like all those odd inch sizes. Are those more common in USA?

Yes, the UK is all decimal! I well remember the days when we commonly used 16x20, 10x8, full plate (6 1/2 x 8 1/2), half plate and quarter plate etc. All in inches, of course! You need to get yourself a guillotine Oli.

It's on my to do list so I can get cheaper mounting boards and make them to my preferred sizes (A3 and A4). I also have drawings I made for the last 10 years that I really need to mount them up on a wall, I am tired of carrying them in a plastic folder through 3 countries and never seeing the light of day.
Just the printing stuff is starting to take 1/3rd of my living room space.

Think you could find 7x5 too if you wanted - I'm currently on the lookout for some 8x6, given it's the same 4:3 ratio as a micro four thirds sensor (meaning little to no cropping for printing) - trouble will then be finding adequate frames 😄

Ovi, I've been buying frames from thrift stores to hang my photos. Mostly they're A4 or smaller, this way I can fit more on the wall!

Because my living room walls have dark paint, I get frames with a gilt finish to stand out. It's hard to photograph them without reflections, but you get the idea...

Currently my favourite paper to use is some canvas-textured laser printer paper, it gives them an interesting finish.

It's a shame about the demise of Wilko here in the UK as their photo frames came in all the various sizes. Apart from that, they sold frames with different sized mounts within them, so you could accommodate virtually any sized photo.
It might be worth a look in somewhere like 'The Range', another cheap household store, who have bought out the Wilko name and I believe will be taking over a few of the defunct stores.
I'm sure you'll find one someone near you Ovi.

Not many takers in sharing their prints I guess? Anywho, I have reorganized my prints on the wall:

I made the left side of the wall for my drawings. At the moment I have only one framed, I need to make some hand made frames because my drawings are on unusual paper sizes. I can't wait to put them up because they've been stuck on my travel case for over 10 years now.

I moved my Sparkles pictures on the white wall above the sofa and once I frame those I will organise them a bit better, try some A4 prints as well.

On the kitchen wall I will use the space for my personal work, the images I'm most happy with, probably leave them unframed so o can shuffle them around when I add more.

I will post later this week more prints, it's been a while since I made a few and I need to have a look on how I feel with the output of OM-1 since October last year.

Haven't seen much activity on this thread which is a bit sad. Anywho, I haven't gotten any prints in a very long time and I could use some moral and motivation boost so I got 6 A4 prints and 1 A4 print as that's all I can afford at the moment.

I had a few mounting frames around so I mount most of them up. The last flower one I didn't put them in the small mounts because it cuts the edges of the flower petals and I don't want that.

I will need to find some time to put them up on the wall, somewhere easy to have a quick glance when I mood might be down.
It looks like I will be living alone for the foreseeable future so there's no one to complain about having big crappy bugs on the walls so I can put up my macro images safely.

I hope I can get a pack of 3rd party inks for my printer so I can print my own pictures this winter because that would be very helpful and motivating.

My ink and toner supplier for over 15 years agrees that it would be madness to use any after-market inks in my R3880, which I believe that you also have, Ovi.

He did, however, tell me that they could get me genuine inks at a far better price.

During Covid, there was a little bird visiting my office window every few minutes. He watched me work, and I watched him chirp. He learned that the pane of glass kept him safe from my shenanigans, and and to not mind me faffing about with my camera. I did not feed him or did anything else to attract him. We were just friends.

Anyway, that's how I came to take close-up portraits of a blue tit with a macro lens:

Acrylic-covered gallery prints. The real bird is maybe two or three inches beak to tail.

Awwwwww that's so sweet and cute. I have a little bird friend too. A few years ago I was scouting for locations to photograph birds and I found an old canal lift that was abandoned for the last 300 years. While I was sitting down on a bench and looking around a little Robin came and started chirping at me, not angrily. He kept twisting his head looking at me m, jumping from branch to branch around me like he was studying me. I have gone there multiple times and I would always had him come in to look at me if I stayed there for more then 10 minutes. I hlnamed him George because that's what he looked like to me, a George. I have pictures of him in the summer, in the winter and full autumn colour. I always like seeing George because he has gotten so comfortable with me that I managed to make a selfie with him with my phone and I had to use wider angle lenses to be able to fit him in the frame because he was getting to close for even at 70mm FF.

Ovi, all are wonderful, but I thought your drawing of the girl with the horse is extraordinarily good.

Thank you, I have wanted to get back to drawing but it's very difficult to get back into that headspace and my hand tremors make it very difficult to hold the pen stable enough. I will keep trying. I absolutely want to make at least one drawing portrait of my Little Legs Princess.
