Sancho is a Geoffrey's Cat (species name), and apparently lives indoors with the owner of the wildlife preserve. The joke is if your toes are sticking out from under the blanket, it's fair game and you may be missing some in the morning.

I had never heard of that species of cat. He's almost as big as my Maine Coon, Oliver.
