Three Eyes – Chimera – Susan Flavell
by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Chimera is Susan Flavell's representation of the mythical monster of the Lycean civilisation. In Greek mythology, the chimera was a fire-breathing female monster with a lion’s head, a goat’s body, and a serpent’s tail, which ravaged the lands of the Lycean coast with her fiery breath until she was slain by the hero Bellerophon with the aid of the flying horse Pegasus.

The sculpture is on loan to the City of Fremantle from Kerry Harmanis until 2023.

Saint Roch - St Flour de Mercoire - Chemin de Stevenson-2018-D4-8
by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Saint Roch was a Catholic saint, a confessor. He is a patron saint of dogs, falsely accused people, bachelors, and several other things.

I assume that there is a linkage to shepherds here hence the statute to Saint Roch.

Walk in the shoes of convicts
by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

The Fremantle Prison - The Convict Establishment (Fremantle, Western Australia) is lit up a night with a changing array of colour. In April 2019 I visited the prison on a dark stormy night to record the colours. This shot was of the wall alongside the ramp leading up to the gates of the prison. The convicts not only built the wall and ramp they had to walk it to.

Today the Fremantle prison UNESCO world heritage site.
