It's all the same around the world, so the images will all be largely the same won't they? Well maybe not, let's find out. Are those policemen in Amsterdam really that chill? Do policemen in certain parts of America really consume doughnuts and drink coffee all day? Do the policemen in London still wear those pointy hats? Are some happy to pose? Do you have any pics of them objecting to taking pictures? Do you have any images where just a sliver of their presence somehow manages to dominate the whole image? I'll start off with two from Sydney (like all of us, I have a lot more) and please feel free to add your contributions. I thought there would have been a thread like this already but there doesn't appear to be so I thought I'd start one.

Love the lighting in the second shot!

I work at the police (in the Netherlands no less), but don't really take photos on the job for aestethic reasons, only as evidence... Let me check my archives for anything publishable :)

[Edit: nope, just checked, all the photos I took at work are either of evidence, of colleagues during office celebrations, or not even remotely visually interesting. Some colleagues have taken nice photos while waiting etc, maybe I should start doing the same]

That's a really clever image - quite possibly a necessity out of safety concerns! Looks like the man with the rifle is a policeman? Happy to read the title of the image!

Not bad for shooting on the move thru two windows from the outside. That was one of eight police officers that had surrounded the house. I was out playing in the yard with my kids. I took this photo as we ran inside. No shots fired as stated it was a false alarm.

I snuck these shots in Northern Spain last November. Having spent over 30 years travelling to various parts of Spain I have found that the local police do tend to stop for breaks at local bars/cafes. I've never seen them do this in the UK but they seem to know everyone and to be part of the community and obviously a visible presence!
