Fuji Question about X-E2 settings

For some reason I can only change metering modes in manual, won't let me do it on aperture mode, same thing for the select focus AF button, is there a setting for that, or is that the way that is supposed to operate?

I can change metering in all 4 modes. Of course face detection prohibits using anything but matrix metering.
