I'm thinking of getting a Nikkor Reflex 500 f8 lens to shoot moon shots with.
Will it work well with a TC-200 Teleconverter?

I have the original Reflex-Nikkor 500/8, and had the newer version. Great lenses "BUT" the secondary mirror part of the front lens. With a Teleconverter- I actually never tried it.
I had one of these- and would go in that direction:
(No connection, have not bought from this seller- but 100%)
Meade 1000mm F11, the one in the auction has the camera attachment.
I donated mine to a project at work, for use on an Near Infrared sensor. The field test failed, they had bought expensive Nikon spotting scopes with the Nano-Coated optics, 10x what I paid for the Meade. Mistake, killed the IR response. The mirror lens was perfect, test passed, and they delivered it with the Meade.
