Animals Rats playing basketball

Matero

Hall of Famer
Actually not nature, but animals though

Lightning and reflections were terrible. I couldn't have managed without polaroid filter and X-T1 controls that let me quickly find acceptable compromise in settings (ISO and exposure compensation)

Actually they all had names, but team names were simply monochrome and multicolored. Probably easier for kids to follow. There were sometimes one-to-four even, this multicolored "girl" against all others. And she won or her team won. They had their own ends and every time they scored they got price=snacks. And they knew their rights, when they had made score to their own attacking end, they demanded strongly their price. Score to wrong end resulted no price, and they didn't score to wrong end even once, even when there were 4-to-4 playing. The game itself was totally volunteer, if some of the rats didn't want to play, he or she was free to go. And boy they played. This white lady with dark color in her head was really snappy and grab the ball from others many times. She also broke the only rule; don't steel the ball to your own nest.

It was really fun and kids followed it very closely, adults of course as well :) This game was played in the local science park. Among many other things...

We and the rats are not so dissimilar. If you give me rewards every time I put a ball through the hoop, I'll just keep putting the ball through the hoop.

I guess that's why they call going to work each day the Rat Race. We only do it for the reward.
