Ricoh Ricoh GRDigital IV Unboxing

I am still in the unboxing and will be testing the cameras all during the week. No idea what is the keeper. Orbs are a good enough reason to discard the X10 because I love specular highlights etc.. but the Ricoh is hesitant to draw the lens in when I turn the power off, like it reels and reels and finally it gives in and closes. Not sure if that is normal but it's a little unsettling. I will let you all know though my thoughts on them though they will be just that, my thoughts. Others already have the cameras and love them.

Alright, Shooter was feeling a little let down without the full frontal camera porn shots so I added to the post if anyone else is interested. Link is just above. Mind you product photography is not my specialty at all, but I gave it a good try. Maybe red velvet next time?

And stockings!

Someone at the forum had mentioned about his GRD refusing to pop the lens out upon powering on. I think it was someone in this forum.

You're right Armanius. Mine is coming out, it just seems a bit hesitant going back in like it's thinking about it, like there are some kind of internals that need to get out of the way etc.. Anyway here is a shot because everyone has been waiting.. used b&w mode and my hand shook a little [i have shaky hands] but this is my daughter with a mask she recently finished.

That is such a cool portrait. Her pose and the mask she made...Frank Herbert coined term for novel Dune; an Ego Likeness, this would fit here.

She actually made the mask for a friend of hers for Christmas.. I took a few shots toying with the in-camera software and while the bleach bypass warm was nice my hands shook too much. I have to keep it under 200 exposures until I know I want it for sure or B&H won't take it back I guess, or that is what I read.
