rock pile

Discussion in 'Nature' started by davect01, Jan 4, 2011.

  1. Not sure if this qualifies as nature, but seems to be the most logical place.

This is a large rock pile right next to my home in Fountain Hills leading into a ravine.

On the way back I noticed this grapefruit on the road and thought it would be an interesting shot.

These were taken with my Sony NEX-3 with the 18-55mm lens.

Sure these constitute nature! Lots of great textures and colors going on in each - especially with that squashed grapefruit scene!

Next time don't hold back on posting them in their larger sizes, though I know we can click on them and go directly into your gallery.
  3. unique

I like to find unique things to photograph, my wife thought it was disgusting.

Squashed grapefruit made me laugh :)
I like the contrast and texture you've captured in the rock shots

The squashed grapefruit made me laugh, as well, Abigail.

Hey, we all need to go for what turns us on! I'm a bit of a MINI Cooper cultist, so I have taken a fair amount of photos of MINIs. What can I say, I have partaken of the MINI kool aid.
  6. I thought the rope interspersed in the rocks was interesting. So many dimensions and focal points.

So many shots are what we would call beauty shots, things we want to see. Nothing wrong with that, but I just thought this would That is what is great about photography, so much to shot, so many different perspectives.

Also love the Mini, unfortunately it does not fit my lifestyle at the moment.
