Bill, your trip must have been wonderful. I particularly like the way those Roman skies look in black and white. Never having been there, I really appreciate seeing the Colosseum the way you've photographed it. Your photo emphasizes the size and power it has even now after, thankfully, the lions and "thumbs up/thumbs down" fights are finished.

Bacchus is looking quite ominous!
 
Thank you all. It's a remarkable city - I feel we have only seen part of it! That Colosseum shot was using the 14mm; ironically I found the interior itself a bit "meh" - there is not a lot left to fire the imagination compared to the amphitheatre in somewhere like Verona. We were fortunate in that it was warm and sunny most of the time we were there - shirt-sleeve weather in the first week of November! :cool:
