I was over at fotozones and there was a thread that our Mike G had succumbed to brain cancer.

It's weird that somewhere in the back of my mind, for some really weird reason, I feel like I'll get around to meeting some of you in person some day. We'll catch up, talk about cameras, have a drink or two. But it's far too late with Mike. No matter how improbable it is that I would have ever met him or the rest of you.

And I've just seen Bill's (bilzmale) post too, in the similar threads section below. I wondered what's up with him in the past couple of months. I missed his last post back in July because we were in the midst of moving interstate and things were really hectic at the time.

I was reading the tribute that Dallas posted and realized that I recognized the photo. It took me a bit of spelunking to figure out where I had seen the photo.

I had noticed Mike's 'out of character' absence from the MFT site and had searched other photo sites as well as local newspapers. He was a good communicator and a decent individual.

Oh dear... So sad, its a shame theres no real way of letting people know when someone has passed away, its just accidental like this when someone happens to notice someplace else. RIP MikeG
