Google has announced a new security feature for its Google Chrome web
browser; a new 'Safe Browsing API service' will guard users against
    malicious downloads.
Chrome will make use of an external 'Safe Browsing' list of dangerous sites
held as an external 'blacklist' which will then alert users when they start
to download suspicious files that might damage the computer. In the first
instance, the service will only block Windows .exe files though other
filetypes will probably be added later.

The system will be tested on small groups of users in a 'Development'
environment before being made available across all users of the Chrome
