The water has receded at the park where I often ride my bike, and it's a muddy mess, with loads of debris, including whole trees deposited in the fairgrounds. The park is located at the head of a wooded bottomland that stretches several miles on the edge of town, and a creek meanders through the bottom as it heads for a nearby river. On my recent bike rides around town, I've been checking out the extent of the flooding. The entire bottom was a huge muddy lake at least 10 feet deep in places. Fortunately, the bottomland is about 40 feet lower in elevation than the town.
