Stroll Seen while strolling...walking and wandering outside

The Ochils

We went strolling in the Ochils, beside Stirling, at the weekend. I haven't picked up my sony NEX 5 in months so thought, now that Single in January is over, I should start using my redundant kit and took it with me. I forgot to clean my lens before I went out so the output wasn't great straight out of the camera. The pics have been pp'd on my ipad2.

Southwest long distance coast path

Part of my walking today in the Start Point area took me along part of the Southwest long distance coast path. This signpost shows the total distance to be 630 miles, no I didn't walk that far!!

It's so good to see everyone's photos. Karen, you are the "post processing iPad2 master" or, if you'd prefer, mistress! Barrie, you are so fortunate to have such a glorious place to go for a walk - love the wildness of the seas and rocks...what a foot path!

Malcolm, you've captured so beautifully that newly little bit of snow, and the colors are so natural and lovely. I am also so glad that that poor little lost dog has been found - now I just hope his owners get to him soon! That walkway through the woods is like the beginning of a dream, or a children's book. You really did wonderfully with a scene that could have been awfully tough. Also love the sweep of the green fields in your second...lovely details and color.

And, Milan - I fell in love as soon as I saw this photograph of yours earlier on Flickr. It's stunning and the old fashioned film quality is just beautiful.

Going to roost

Early dusk, and over the fields just a little way up the hill from my cottage a small flock of Golden Plover (waders) forced off the estuary by the rising tide are flying around giving their characteristic whistling call as they look for a place to roost during high tide.

A still, chilly, grey day for the morning walk

The Golden Plover flock numbered some 200 this morning, feeding in a field known as "Great Luscombe", until disturbed by me walking the path that crosses the field. This is only part of the flock.

Coming back along the carriage road, this is the view down onto Frogmore Creek at high tide.

My strolls certainly look different from most of yours. I must confess, though, feeling a little jealous... From yesterday morning:
