My turnaround point for this morning's ride was a secluded waterfall grotto. Usually there's a good view even from the trail, but this week's torrential rains dumped more rocks, silt, and mud than I would have thought imaginable into the grotto. Compare the image from today with one I took back in February. I really should have given the grotto a pass, but me being me, I had to try. It was a lot harder getting in and out than I had expected, and the silt and rocks at the base of the waterfall were shoulder high to me when I was standing in front of the waterfall. Fortunately, there was a smaller cascade right along the trail on the way back that let me wash off most of the mud from my feet and the bike.
