A pair of house finches, female and male, visiting the tree behind my back door this morning.

Then they noticed me--

The female flitted away but the male stayed a bit longer, acting like he owned the place...

Perhaps he did :)

All taken with my ancient film vintage manual focus Minolta Rokkor MD 200mm lens, prone to purple fringing and chromatic aberration, but still fun to use.

I didn't realize the males were orange up north! We only get red ones in California.
