Animals Show Birds

I'm in the pool.

Kookaburra lands on our upstairs deck railing.

Out of the pool.

Dried hands.

Grab camera off sofa, and switch on. Check ISO and aperture.

Walk upstairs as quickly as possible.

Take a couple of shots through screen door ...

Gently open screen door a little (about 2m from bird!).

Take three more shots.

Kookaburra flies away ...

Here is the last of the three good shots.

It's actually sharper than this. This is a resize of a resize of the OoC JPEG ...
...saved to PDF, printed out, scanned with a phone, then printed from the original .GIF and it STILL looks good! 🙀

Danny, when the blood is up, it's amazing what I can do! My back is now completely buggered, with two hot wheat bags easing the pain ...

All the above was just after I'd been trimming the pool cover to fit better. And that was a bloody cow of a job!

And thanks for the compliment. Means a lot to me coming from someone who is so flaming good at bird photography, like yourself.

So yesterday, we visited Grizzly Island Wildlife Refuge for the first time, in hopes of seeing a few different birds. Less than a minute after entering, pulling over, and switching seats so my wife could drive while I looked for birds, I told her to stop because I saw this red-tailed hawk "doing lazy circles in the sky" just like in the song.

I have a duck infestation. My dog doesn't even scare them. Then again, they're almost bigger than my dog. They sure seem to like the snow in my backyard as opposed to floating in the lake.

I wasn't dissing you AT ALL, sorry. It's a standard meme about computer-illiterate people going to great lengths to make things much more complicated than necessary (or wise).
Absolutely NO OFFENCE taken! None, nada, zilch.

I was taking a cheap shot at the crappy terms of service that Vertical Scope has imposed on all users of the mu-43.com forum. I do not post photos there any more, and specifically withdrew my permission for them to use any of my previously posted photos for any other purpose than the functionality of the forum.

Their ToS caused about 50-100 of us regular posters there to decamp to here, when they unilaterally granted themselves co-ownership of the copyright of all our images.

Once again, my apologies for the misunderstanding.

Well, I understand that better than you might think, because I (and a few others I can think of) came here myself from FujiX-Forum for the exact same reason!

Yes, John said to me about here. That other m4/3 forum was sold and that was that.

I've always preferred a mixed camera forum because it's the image that counts.

This here is a perfect balance IMO. 😀
