I watched this Kingfisher for 30 min and no movement. As soon as I get tired of waiting he dives. I am learning that in birding, wait as long as you can and then add an hour or two.

Yep. I've missed numerous attempts at trying to catch a Hawk just as it launches from its perch. They seem to know when your arms are cramped from holding up the camera and you decide to rest for just a second.
