The midday sun plus the inclusion of the background with the 42mm EFL lens makes the birds look larger than usual and superimposed at the same time.

Even though I didn't have the 50-200mm with me that day, it helped that I was standing on a platform 2 metres above sea level and the birds were flying really closely.

The all-elusive Tui looks like it's even staring at the lens. This was taken at the Albany complex where I got my first Tui shot. I assume there is a nest in the area.
